New Adult Health Indicators Added

New indicators about disability and cognitive decline and chronic disease management have been added to the Missouri Adult Health Data Report. These indicators use data from the 2024* Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS) and are reported for the state of Missouri and for Missouri’s BRFSS regions. Indicators include:

Disability And Cognitive Decline

  • Difficulty Concentrating, Remembering, Or Making Decisions
  • Difficulty Walking Or Climbing Stairs
  • Difficulty Dressing Or Bathing
  • Difficulty Doing Errands Alone
  • Had A Recent Fall (45+)
  • Injured In A Fall (45+)
  • Experienced Cognitive Decline
  • Worried About Cognitive Decline
  • Discussed Cognitive Decline With A Provider
  • Cognitive Decline Interferes With Daily Activities (45+)
  • Cognitive Decline Interferes With Social Activities (45+)

Chronic Disease Management

  • Diabetes – Management Education
  • Diabetes – Taking Insulin
  • Diabetes – Recent A1C Test
  • Diabetes – Recent Eye Exam
  • Diabetes – Foot Sores
  • Arthritis – Recommended Exercise
  • Arthritis – Management Education

*Data for chronic disease management indicators are reported for a multi-year period to increase sample size and estimate reliability.
